FEL Opened Door for Extensive Applications

Abstract
Jefferson Lab′s Upgraded FEL has achieved 10kW of infrared output power, making the tunable laser in the world even more powerful. Its unique, high-power and 24-hour capabilities are ideal for defense, industrial, and scientific applications. This article reviews Navy′s FEL Upgrade programs and achievements as well as future developments. The various applications of the upgraded 10kW FEL are discussed.
