Abstract
Typical fabrication methods of photonics crystal fiber gratings are studied, such as by ultraviolet beams, CO2 laser heat source, mechanical pressure, two-photon absorption at home and abroad. The mode coupling proper-ties of fiber Bragg gratings and long period gratings written in photonics crystal fibers are analyzed. Photonic crystal fiber gratings are insensitive to external conditions and gratings written in pure silicon core are also insensitive to temperature. Finally, the applications of photonic crystal fiber gratings in optical fiber communication and sensing system and the prospect of photonic crystal fiber grating based devices are presented.
