Abstract
A combined time-resolved resonance Raman (TR3) spectroscopy experimental and density functional theoretical study of the ultraviolet photolysis of diiodomethane in cyclohexane and cyclohexen solvent was done. The transient resonance Raman experiments identified the CH2I-I is the photoproduct that is mainly responsible for the ~385 absorption formed following ultraviolet excitation of diiodomethane in liquid solutions (Figure 1).……
