Multiphoton Ionization Spectra of Yb Atom in Electric Fields

摘要
Abstract
This paper reports the investigation of the resonance spectra of different highly-excited states of Yb atom in electric fields from near zero to 15000V/cm by means of multiphoton excitation. Most of observed resonance peaks are identified and the selection rules and the intensities of the transition are discussed. The evolutions of the lines in applied electric fields are observed and analyzed. The results shows that transitions involving the excitation of the 4f14 subshell play an important role in the spectral behavior of highly-excited states of Yb atom.
