Characteristics of Tellurite Neodymium-doped Glass Laser

Abstract
The characteristics of a gain-switched tellurite neodymium-doped glass laser pumped by a Ti: sapphire laser are reported. The dependence of the output laser pulsewidth and delay-time on pump energy are investigated. The pulsewidth and delay-time of output pulses corresponding to 79%, 88% and 98% three different reflectivities of the output couplers are given. It is found that using the the output coupler of 79% reflectivity, the output pulse with 14.7% slope efficiency and the shortest pulse Width of 6.0 ns can be achieved in tellurite neodymium-doped glass.
