Butterfly interconnection networks and their applications in Walsh-Hadamard transform-based information processing and optical computing
摘要
Abstract
In this Paper, we review the applications and functions of various optical interconnection networks in optical information processing. Then,we briefly derive the two dimensional (2-D) signal diagram networks for implementing the 2-D Walsh-Hadamard transforms (WHTs) and study an optical butterfly network hardware (OBNH) system by using binary Phase diffraction gratings(BPDGs),random phase masks (RPMs) and optoelectronic logic arrays (OLAs), especially discuss the energy loss of the OBNH system and the Performances of these three hardwares. Finally, we analyze the operation patterns for implementing optical information processing based on the WHTs, and study the BPDGs in theory and experiment.
