In recent years,engaging a rear target with missile through the 3rd party targeting becomes a new research field of Over-The-Shoulder(OTS). We introduce the background and development of OTS through 3rd party targeting,analyze fire control principle and technology characteristics of OTS through 3rd party targeting,and present how OTS through the 3rd party targeting will influence future air combat.
