二维正方光子晶体波导中的慢光传输
Slow Light Transmission in Two-dimension Square Photonic Crystal Waveguide
摘要
采用平面波展开法分析了正方晶格光子晶体线缺陷波导中的慢光传输.数值模拟结果表明, 介质柱光子晶体线缺陷波导中, 缺陷模的群速度与填充比、缺陷处介质柱半径及与波导相邻介质柱半径有关, 其中缺陷处介质柱半径对缺陷模的群速度影响最大; 随着填充比和缺陷处介质柱半径的增大及与波导相邻介质柱半径的减小, 缺陷模的群速度逐渐减小且最小减至0.015c.进而对比研究空气柱光子晶体线缺陷波导, 发现缺陷模的群速度随着缺陷处空气柱半径的减小而减小, 最小减至0.008c.
Abstract
The slow light propagation in a waveguide formed by line defect in two-dimensional square photonic crystal is analyzed by use of the plane wave expansion method.The numerically simulation results show that the group velocity in the photonic crystal waveguide can be decreased by increasing the filling factor and the radius of defect rods,and decreasing the radius of the rods adjacent to the waveguide,of which the main factor of the influence on the group velocity is the defect rod size.By tuning the three factors above,the value of the group velocity can be as smaller as 0.015c.Furthermore,for air rod square photonic crystal waveguide,the group velocity in the photonic crystal waveguide can be decreased by decreasing the radius of the air rods,and the value of the group velocity is only 0.008c.
