Design of Refractive/Diffractive Plastic Optical System in Head Mounted Display
摘要
研究了塑料透镜在头盔系统中的应用, 设计了全塑料(聚甲基丙烯酸甲脂-PMMA)头盔光学系统.引入衍射面, 利用其负色散性和波面任意整形特性消除系统色差及改善波前像差.图像源发出的光束在分束器附近成中间像, 可增大系统视场; 出瞳在中继透镜组中间成像, 可减小系统口径, 增大出瞳直径.该系统镜头部分重量仅为6 g, 目视系统中需重点校正的像散和垂轴色差的最大值分别为0.44 mm和20 μm, 最大畸变为2.5%; 系统最小角分辨率为0.9 mrad, 视场为40°(H)×30°(V).
Abstract
The properties of plastic elements applied in head mounted display (HMD) were studied and a HMD optical system made from Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) was presented. A diffractive surface is introduced into the system, so the chromatic aberration and wavefront aberration of the optical system can be well corrected by virtue of the negative dispersion and arbitrary phase modulation properties of the binary element. The image source forms an intermediate image near the beam-splitter to enlarge the field of view; the exit pupil forms an intermediate image between the front and rear elements of the relay system to reduce the diameter of the optical elements and enlarge the diameter of the exit pupil. The total weight of the optical system is just 6g,the astigmatic and lateral color parameters are 0.44 mm and 20 μm respectively,and the distortion is less than 2.5%; The minimum angu1ar reso1ution is 0.9 mrad, and the field of view is 40°(horizonta1)x30°(vertical).
