低损耗正方晶格微结构光纤的设计

摘要
应用多极法对正方晶格微结构光纤的损耗特性进行了数值模拟, 研究了包层各层空气孔直径和包层空气孔层数在1.31μm和1.55μm处对损耗特性的影响。研究发现, 通过选择高空气填充率的结构参数可以有效地降低光纤的损耗; 通过增大最外层空气孔的直径或包层空气孔层数, 可在保持色散特性不变的基础上显著降低光纤的损耗。文章的计算和分析可以为设计适当色散特性的低损耗微结构光纤提供理论依据。
Abstract
The loss properties of square-lattice micro-structured optical fibers were simulated numerically by the multipole method. The effects of the structural parameters, such as the air hole diameter of each layer and the number of the layers in the cladding, on its loss properties at 1.31 and 1.51 were studied. It is confirmed that the loss can be reduced dramatically by choosing high air-filling rate, and lower loss can be gotten by increasing the diameter of air holes of the outermost layer or the layer number of the cladding air hole with unchanged dispersion. The calculation and analysis provide a certain theoretical basis for the design of micro-structured optical fibers with desirable dispersion and low loss.
