基于EDFA与RFA的增益可调的混合光纤放大器
EDFA-and RFA-based gain-variable hybrid fiber amplifiers
摘要
混合光纤放大器广泛应用于密集波分复用系统中。针对目前混合光纤放大器存在的一些问题,文章提出一种基于EDFA(掺铒光纤放大器)和RFA(拉曼光纤放大器)的混合光纤放大器,利用统一的控制平台来调整增益的变化,不需要内置VOA(可变光衰减器),RFA增益与EDFA增益可以相互补偿,其增益斜率也可以相互补偿,保证了增益的平坦性。实验证明,此种混合光纤放大器噪声小、增益大,具有平坦的增益宽带。
Abstract
Hybrid fiber amplifiers are widely used in DWDM systems. In view of the defects of current hybrid fiber amplifiers, this paper proposes an EDFA/RFA-based hybrid fiber amplifier, in which the gain variations are regulated on a unified control platform without a built-in VOA and the RFA and EDFA gains can be mutually compensated and so their gain tilts, ensuring the flatness of the gains. Experimental results show that this hybrid fiber amplifier is characteristic of low noise, high gain and flattened gain bandwidth.
