单模光纤宏弯损耗理论与实验研究

摘要
对单模光纤宏弯损耗进行了理论分析与实验测量, 选取D. Marcuse、H. Renner和L.Faustini的理论公式模拟分析了康宁公司SMF28单模光纤的宏弯损耗, 并与测量结果进行了对比。结果表明: 根据D. Marcuse公式模拟的结果无法预测SMF28光纤宏弯损耗随弯曲半径变化而振荡的趋势, H. Renner的公式能够预测这种趋势, 但模拟结果与测量结果差别较大, 最大相对误差为57.8%, L.Faustini的公式也能模拟该趋势, 且模拟结果与测量结果差别较小, 最大相对误差仅为19.6%, 是一种较为准确的计算带涂覆层单模光纤宏弯损耗的理论公式。
Abstract
Macrobending loss of single-mode fibers is analyzed theoretically and measured experimentally in the paper. Simulations of macrobending loss for Corning SMF28 single-mode optical fiber are conducted based on the formulas proposed by D.Marcuse, H.Renner and L.Faustini, respectively. The measurement and simulation results are compared. The results show that the simulation results based on D.Marcuse’s equation cannot predict the macrobending loss oscillation phenomenon, while the simulation results based on H.Renner’s can predict this phenomenon with largest relative error of 57.8% between simulation and experimental results. Meanwhile, the simulation results based on L.Faustini’s formula can predict this phenomenon with largest relative error of only 19.6%. Therefore, the equation presented by L. Faustini can be considered as an accurate formula to calculate macrobending loss of coated single-mode fibers.
