非线性光子晶体环型腔线缺陷波导的慢光特性研究

摘要
线性光子晶体中可获得较低的慢光速度是以牺牲带宽为代价的。本文通过在光子晶体圆环型腔内加入克尔型非线性材料, 分别构建以三角晶格和正方晶格排列的非线性环型腔线缺陷波导, 利用有限元法对其慢光特性进行了仿真模拟。结果表明: 正方晶格具有更好的慢光效应, 获得的最佳慢光群速度为0.0055c, 在保证10-3c慢光条件下, 可达到0.001的相对带宽; 与线性光子晶体线缺陷耦合腔波导相比, 带宽提高了两倍, 实现了具有低群速度、高带宽特性的慢光效果, 对进一步发展光子晶体的光缓存有着重要意义。
Abstract
In the linear photonic crystal, the lower slow light speed light can be obtained at the expense of bandwidth. The nonlinear line defect waveguides with ring-shaped-hole arranged in triangular-lattice and square-lattice were constructed by adding Kerr-type nonlinear materials into the photonic crystal ring cavity. The slow-light characteristics were studied by Finite Element Method. The simulation results show that the square lattice has a better slow light effect, and the optimal slow light group velocity is 0.0055c, which can obtain the relative bandwidth of 0.001 under the condition of 10-3c slow light. Compared with the linear photonic crystal line defect coupled-cavity waveguide, the bandwidth is doubled, realizing the slow light effect with low group velocity and high bandwidth, which is of great significance for further development of photonic crystal.
