专家介绍
      量子信息领域专家。1970年出生于浙江省东阳市。1987年考入中国科技大学近代物理系,先后获学士、硕士学位。1999年获维也纳大学博士学位。现任中国科学技术大学教授、博导,中科院量子科学实验卫星先导专项首席科学家,教育部量子信息与量子科技前沿协同创新中心主任,中科院量子信息与量子科技前沿卓越创新中心主任。
 
      多年从事量子信息领域的研究工作,并取得了一系列开创性的研究成果,其主要贡献有:首次实现量子态隐形传输,量子纠缠互换,三光子、四光子、五光子纠缠,量子纠缠纯化。他带领的这个小组2005年在合肥创造了13公里的自由空间双向量子纠缠分发世界纪录,同时验证了在外层空间与地球之间分发纠缠光子的可行性。2009年,他带领小组又成功实现了世界上最远距离的量子态隐形传输,16公里的传输距离比原世界纪录提高了20多倍。实验结果首次证实了在自由空间进行远距离量子态隐形传输的可行性,为全球化量子通信网络最终实现奠定了重要基础。现在芜湖“量子政务网”所使用的核心器材和设备,包括最关键的光电调制芯片,全部为我国自主研发或与国内单位联合研制,整个网络已经实现了国产化。
 
社会职务:
      2008年11月,当选为发展中国家科学院的TWAS Young Affiliates(通讯院士)。
      2009年7月,在上海浦东创建中国科学技术大学量子工程中心。
 
个人荣誉:
      2003年,被奥地利科学院授予Erich Schmid奖。
      2004年,在欧洲连续获得3项研究大奖:欧盟的玛丽·居里奖,奖金115万欧元;洪堡基金会索非亚奖,奖金105万欧元;德意志研究联合会尼托奖,奖金113万欧元。
      2005年6月,获得欧洲物理学会2005年度菲涅尔奖。
      2006年1月获国家自然科学一等奖。
      2006年3月获中国科学院杰出科技成就奖 。
      2006年10月获第六届中国青年科学家奖。

研究成果:
1997-1998年,首次成功地实现了量子态隐形传送(1997)以及纠缠态交换(1998);
1999-2000年,首次成功实现三光子(1999)、四光子纠缠态(2001),并利用多粒子纠缠态首次成功地实现了GHZ定理的实验验证(2000);
2003年,首次成功地实现了自由量子态的隐形传送;
2003年,首次实现纠缠态纯化以及量子中继器的成功实验;
2004年,首次取得五粒子纠缠态的制备与操纵;
2006年,首次实现两粒子复合系统量子态隐形传输,并在实验中第一次成功地实现了对六光子纠缠态的操纵。
2006年夏,中国潘建伟小组、美国洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室、欧洲慕尼黑大学-维也纳大学联合研究小组各自独立实现了诱骗态方案,同时实现了超过100公里的量子保密通信实验,其中,潘建伟小组在2009年进行的实验又将绝对安全通信距离延长到200公里。
2007年,实现六光子薛定谔猫态。通过实验成功制备出国际上纠缠光子数最多的薛定谔猫态和可以直接用于量子计算的簇态,刷新光子纠缠和量子计算领域的两项世界纪录。
2008年,利用冷原子量子存储技术,在国际上首次实现了具有存储和读出功能的纠缠交换,建立了由300米光纤连接的两个冷原子系综之间的量子纠缠。这种冷原子系综之间的量子纠缠可以被读出并转化为光子纠缠,以进行进一步的传输和量子操作。该实验成果完美实现了远距离量子通信中急需的“量子中继器”,向未来广域量子通信网络的最终实现迈出了坚实的一步。8月28日出版的国际著名科学期刊《自然》,以《量子中继器实验实现》为题发表了这项重要研究成果。
2009年,由中国科大潘建伟、陈增兵、彭承志等人组成的团队针对量子通信实用化展开了攻关研究,研制成功量子电话样机,并在商业光纤网络的基础上,组建了可自由扩充的光量子电话网,节点间距达到20公里,实现了“一次一密”加密方式的实时网络通话和3方对讲机功能,真正实现了“电话一拨即通、语音实时加密、安全牢不可破”的量子保密电话。
