Laser & Optoelectronics Progress (ISSN 1006-4125), the first laser and optoelectronics journal published in China, which was founded in 1964, is administrated by Chinese Academy of Sciences, sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is published by Chinese Laser Press. The present editor-in-chief is Professor Dianyuan Fan, who is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering. It will be under coverage by Scopus. Laser & Optoelectronics Progress mainly publishes new research results, as well as important reviews in the fields of laser and optoelectronics. It aims to present timely reports of the latest research results and applications of laser and optoelectronics science and technology, promote academic communication and the development of laser and optoelectronics research and applications, and establish connections between scientific research and industry.
      The main columns include general, lasers and laser optics, fiber optics and optical communications, optical design and fabrication, materials, image processing, imaging systems, optical devices, remote sensing and sensors, atmospheric optics and oceanic optics, diffraction and gratings, atomic and molecular physics, detectors, thin films, ultrafast optics, etc. Laser & Optoelectronics Progress is famous for its review papers. In 2018, Laser & Optoelectronics Progress published 61 reviews, including 18 invited reviews from senior professors.
      According to Chinese S&T Journal Citation Reports (Core Edition) (CJCR) 2018, the impact factor of Laser & Optoelectronics Progress is 0.8, which is No.8 among the 17 journals in Optoelectronics and Laser Technology in China.
