About Suzhou

Suzhou is on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Tai Lake and is a part of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Originally founded in 514 BC, Suzhou has over 2,500 years of rich history, and relics of the past are abundant to this day. The city's canals, stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens have contributed to its status as one of the top tourist attractions in China. Since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), it has been an important centre for China's silk industry.

Classic Gardens

The Suzhou classical gardens has been added into UNESCO World Heritage listed and it is the reason why the city becomes one of the most revered cities in China. There is no wonder that people say South China is the most beautiful, and Suzhou is the most beautiful in  South China.

Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden are among the four most famous classical gardens in China, respectively representing the garden building style of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. They were added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.
