Title: Senior Editor
Location: Shanghai, China
Chinese Laser Press (CLP) was established by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chinese Optical Society in 2009, with the key business of publishing journals in both traditional and digital models. The CLP journals and partnered ones are collected in the Optics Datapool, which provides information services for users in China and other parts of the world. CLP keeps close relationship with The Optics Society (OSA) and Cambridge University Press in journal publishing activities.
At present, the Press publishes seven journals with three of them published in English, i.e., Chinese Optics Letters (COL), High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPL), and Photonics Research (PR). Thereinto, COL, the most influential optical journal in China, has been included by SCI-E and EI (SCI IF 1.073), HPLaser and PR are newly established open-access journals in 2013.
CLP is currently looking to hire a Senior Editor to guide these journals and effectively represent and serve Chinese Laser Press.
Job Description:
1. Pre-review manuscripts;
2. Assist Editor-in-Chief to promote the journals’ international influence and visibility around world;
3. Organize Special Issue in hot topics with Editorial Board;
4. Attend international conferences to promote the journals, inviting international experts to participate the related activities with CLP;
5. Strengthen the international reach of the journals; deepen the collaboration with international publisher.
Qualifications:
1. A PhD in Optics or related fields; overseas study or working experience; outstanding scientific achievements, preferably with the experience, at least three years, of serving as the Editorial Board member or reviewers, or working as editor in famous international journals;
2. Good communication and coordination skills, skillful in academic relationships;
3. Strong teamwork spirit, organization and management capacity, and international communication competence.
