纳秒级脉冲激光对战场中广泛使用的光电传感器构成了严重威胁。光限幅材料在阻止强激光通过的同时, 不影响低能量信号光的通过, 是目前激光防护领域的研究热点。针对可见-近红外波段光电传感器强激光防护应用需求, 在金属酞菁化合物基础上, 基于增强其共轭体系电子云密度的设计思想制备了一种新型高性能光限幅材料--四枯丁苯氧基氯代酞菁铟, 并对其进行了测试表征。瞬态吸收光谱实验表明,四枯丁苯氧基氯代酞菁铟具有很强且长寿命的激发态吸收。光限幅性能测试证明其光限幅启动阈值为8 mJ/cm2, 光限幅阈值为0.06 J/cm2, 损伤阈值大于4 J/cm2,当输入能流达到3 J/cm2时, 光限幅器件透过率下降到6%。由测试结果可以看出, 该材料光限幅启动阈值及光限幅阈值低, 损伤阈值高, 可见-近红外波段线性透过率高, 具有优异的光限幅性能, 在光电系统激光防护中具有较高的应用前景。

The conversion-efficiency for second-harmonic (SH) in optical fibers is significantly limited by extremely weak second-order nonlinearity of fused silica, and pulse pump lasers with high peak power are widely employed. Here, we propose a simple strategy to efficiently realize the broadband and continuous wave (CW) pumped SH, by transferring a crystalline GaSe coating onto a microfiber with phase-matching diameter. In the experiment, high efficiency up to 0.08 %W-1mm-1 is reached for a C-band pump laser. The high enough efficiency not only guarantees SH at a single frequency pumped by a CW laser, but also multi-frequencies mixing supported by three CW light sources. Moreover, broadband SH spectrum is also achieved under the pump of a superluminescent light-emitting diode source with a 79.3 nm bandwidth. The proposed scheme provides a beneficial method to the enhancement of various nonlinear parameter processes, development of quasi-monochromatic or broadband CW light sources at new wavelength regions.

We review the physics and some applications of photonic structures designed for the realization of strong nonlinear chiroptical response. We pay much attention to the recent strategy of utilizing different types of optical resonances in metallic and dielectric subwavelength structures and metasurfaces, including surface plasmon resonances, Mie resonances, lattice-guided modes, and bound states in the continuum. We summarize earlier results and discuss more recent developments for achieving large circular dichroism combined with the high efficiency of nonlinear harmonic generation.

This work demonstrates the generation of short pulse duration and high-beam-quality laser pulses using transient stimulated Brillouin scattering at a high repetition rate. Thermal effects and optical breakdown are identified as the main factors that restrict energy reflectivity and beam quality under high repetition rates and transient situations. Through experimental analysis, the interaction length and focal point size are determined to be the key parameters in reducing the thermal effect by reducing the absorption of the laser pulse by the medium. The obtained results show that pulses with a duration of 175 ps and beam quality M2 of around 1.2 can be achieved with a maximum energy reflectivity of over 40% under an interaction length of 50 mm. Furthermore, at an interaction length of 90 mm, a pulse output with a minimum duration of 115 ps (0.5τQ) is achieved.
