基于光纤环形镜的掺铒光纤放大器增益平坦化

摘要
理论和实验上简要分析研究了由两段保偏光纤组成的光纤环形镜的反射谱特性,提出了利用保偏光纤环形镜进行掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)增益平坦化的方法.应用该方法,在1527~1562 nm范围内,EDFA自发辐射谱的不平坦度为±1 dB.
Abstract
The reflection characteristic of a fiber loop mirror, which comprises two pieces of polarization maintaining fiber, is studied in theory and experiment. A flexible method based on the polarization maintaining fiber loop mirror is proposed for the gain flattening of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. The excursion of the ASE intensity of the flattened-EDFA is 2 dB in the 1527-1562 nm wavelength region.
