液晶扩散不均问题的原理分析与改善

在TFT-LCD产品中, 液晶扩散不均是一种常见的不良缺陷。此种缺陷形状不规则, 现象为液晶屏中存在形状不规则小气泡。它的主要原因是由于液晶未完全扩散导致的。为了改善这种缺陷, 本文通过流体Washburn模型模拟液晶扩散过程, 发现液晶流动时间和液晶初始位置是关键因素, 并利用上述两个关键因素设计实验。实验结果表明, 将液晶滴注形状由2×5型变更为“工”字型, 有效地解决了扩散不均的问题。同时将对盒设备进行实验, 发现抽真空时间增加至50 s更有利于此问题的解决。另外, 对加热设备进行实验, 发现加热实验延长至100 min, 同样有利于解决不良。所以, 改变液晶滴下的初始位置、增加抽真空时间、增加加热固化时间等方式可有效改善液晶扩散不均现象。
Abstract
Liquid crystal diffusion is a common defect in TFT-LCD products. The defect is that there are small irregular bubbles in the LCD screen. The main reason for this kind of small bubble is the incomplete diffusion of liquid crystal. In this paper, Washburn model is used to simulate the liquid crystal diffusion process to solve this problem. It is verified that the liquid crystal flow time and the initial position of liquid crystal have a great influence. The experiment is designed with the above two key factors. The results show that the liquid crystal droplet shape is changed from 2 × 5 type to ‘工’-shape, which effectively solves the non-uniform diffusion. It is found that the increase of vacuum time by 50 s is helpful to solve this problem. In addition, the heating time is extended to 100 min, which is also conducive to solve the problem. Therefore, changing the initial position of the liquid crystal drop, increasing the vacuum time and heating curing time can effectively improve the liquid crystal diffusion unevenness.
