一种新型的模式复用器
A novel mode multiplexer
摘要
为了进一步提高光纤通信传输容量以及突破单模光纤的容量极限,提出了一种新型的模式复用器结构,该结构可以将单模光纤中的纤芯基模转换为双模光纤中的高阶模。基于耦合模理论,通过MATLAB仿真与计算,证明此复用器的模式转换率可以达到100%,转换带宽为10 nm。由于其良好的转换效率和带宽,此复用器装置可以用于模分复用传输系统中来增加光纤通信的传输容量。
Abstract
In order to improve the transmission capacity of optical fiber communication and break through the bandwidth limitation of single-mode fiber,a novel mode multiplexer was proposed and it could convert the fundamental core mode in the single-mode fiber into high-order mode in the two-mode fiber.Based on coupled mode theory,MATLAB simulation and calculation were done.The study shows that the mode conversion ratio could achieve 100% and the conversion band is 10 nm.As a consequence of its good conversion efficiency and bandwidth,the multiplexer can be applied in the mode division multiplexing transmission system to increase the transmission capacity.
